Fangirling Part Three

Part Three - Intercom with Noel

Part of the reason why I chose to pursue my study in England was cos of Oasis. I loved them dearly. Noel Gallagher was my hero :) Hanging outside the brothers Gallagher's homes became a routine each time I went to London. LOL. They used to live minutes apart from each other in north London and every Tom Dick and Harry in England knew where they lived.

One fine autumn I went to London to meet up with a college mate from the south and we made a stop at Noel's house. It was getting dark and we didn't wanna be hanging outside his residence for too long as it was getting cold so I rang the intercom. Noel came on the intercom! So I was like (stammering): 'Noel could you come out for a bit?'

Noel (who probably regretted having an intercom outside his house hahaha..) said he was busy in the studio (he has a studio at home) and he'd probably be down 'later'. We didn't stick around long enough. That was the first and the last time I 'com him cos he later moved to a big house in the countryside away from all the pesky fans lol

Part Two - Letter to Ashin in Mansfield

When I found out that Mayday were staying at Holiday Inn, Mansfield, MA during their American trip (before the NFL announcement), I quickly messaged my friend smeLLyphant in Boston and asked how far was Mansfield from her. It was a 30 minute drive. And coincidentally, she was heading there that evening to attend a game (the very same game that Mayday attended)

I came up with a crazy idea for smeLLyphant to deliver a letter to Ashin LOL. But to be sure that they were still in the hotel, I asked her to call up the hotel to check if Mr Chen Hsin Hung was a guest at the hotel. She called up the hotel and sure enough they confirmed that Mr Chen was a guest.

I got her to send my letter to the hotel and they said they'd deliver it. Thanks again eLLy for your help =D

Fangirling Part One

Am in the mood to share some of my fangirling stories

Part One - Travis in Brixton

Waited for hours outside Brixton Academy, south London in sub zero temperature in the middle of winter waiting for the band after the gig, only to realise that:
1. Brixton is not a safe place to be in the wee hours of the morning, especially if you're Asian
2. only Japanese fans wait outside the venue after the gig

When the band finally appeared/ left the venue (pissed drunk), we got their photos/hugs/kisses/signatures

To my surprise, Fran signed his name in Japanese on my CD.
Fran: "did I get my name right?"
Me: "err.. I'm not Japanese"
Fran: "....."


Next up, Dougie. The ever smiling lanky bassist.
Me: "Dougie can you write my name?"
Dougie: *signs on CD*
Me: "uh.. there's no hyphen in between my name. It's just a space"
Dougie: "oh.." *scribbles* (see photo below)
Me: "......"


A couple of cabs were on call at the venue to send the band home and there was a Viet cabbie who was trying to pick me up that night. Turned out he sent Fran and his then gf (now missus) home. He gave me Fran's and the rest of the band members' house address - in exchange for my phone number. Seemed like a pretty good trade

And in case you're wondering, yes the addresses were legit alright and I went to checked them out.

Moving on...

All is quiet in the Mayday camp as they are now in Japan recording their upcoming album. So it's time for a quick breather from Mayday news and a little rambling on myself.

I decided to throw in the towel at work recently. It was a decision that I made awhile back but took a little longer to execute, largely due to what I had planned ahead.

So while I am serving notice and waiting for the day I leave office, I am looking forward to the new album, movie and tour =D
